Time Off

Time Off

PTO may be used for vacation, sick time, or other personal matters. Any unscheduled time off requires the use of accrued but unused PTO. Unpaid time off and leaves of absence are governed by separate handbook policies.

Managers follow 120 hours for years 1–3, 160 hours for years 4–7, and 200 hours for year 8+.

How PTO works

How PTO is requested

  • PTO is usable after the 90-day introductory period.
  • Request time off two weeks in advance in minimum 4-hour increments.
  • Carry over up to 40 hours or cash out by December 1.
  • Maximum one consecutive week, with black-out dates near month-end.

Paid holidays

Saturday holidays are observed the preceding Friday. Sunday holidays are observed the following Monday.

Eligibility and enrollment

  • You must be age 21.
  • New hires enroll the first of the month following their hire date.
  • Rehires must re-enroll manually.
  • Under-21 employees auto-enroll at 3% once they turn 21.
  • Opt out by changing your Paychex contribution to 0% at least one week after hire.
  • Rollovers are accepted as of your hire date.

Contributions

Contribute up to 80% of eligible pay on a pre-tax or Roth basis. There is no minimum contribution, and you can change deferrals at any time.

Employer match

  • The employer match is discretionary and calculated annually on plan-year compensation.
  • The match is paid as a lump sum once per year.
  • You must be actively participating and employed on the last day of the plan year to receive it.
  • You are always 100% vested in your own contributions and rollovers.

Hardship withdrawals

Available for home purchase, tuition, medical expenses, eviction prevention, funeral costs, or home repairs.

Up to $50,000 or 50% of your vested balance, whichever is lower.

Leave

Leave Policies

FMLA

Up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave for serious health conditions, new child bonding, or military family needs. Requires 12+ months of service and 1,250+ hours worked.

Bereavement

Up to 3 paid days for the death of an immediate family member, available after 6 months of service.

Parental Leave

Up to 8 weeks unpaid for birth, adoption, or foster placement. Available to full-time employees with 12+ months of service.

Medical Leave

Up to 6 weeks unpaid per rolling year for serious illness when ineligible for other leave.

Military Leave

Provided under USERRA with full re-employment rights and reinstatement to your prior position.

Personal Leave

Considered case by case after 90+ days of employment. All paid leave must be used first, and reinstatement is not guaranteed.

Financial Security

Through Paychex with auto-enrollment at 3%, a discretionary match, 90-day eligibility, and age 21+ requirements.

Workers' Compensation

Covers work-related injuries and illnesses. Report any injury to your manager immediately. Includes medical care and wage replacement, company-funded per state law.

COBRA Continuation

Keep health coverage after a qualifying event such as resignation, reduction in hours, or divorce. Contact HR about your rights.
